The difference between the Conical self-aligning roller and the Friction transfer roller

Tapered self-aligning roller is similar with Friction self-aligning roller in structure which are mentioned when introduce the belt conveyor, their purpose is protecting belt and preventing belt deviation. However, in the process of actual use, there is a big difference between them.
The main difference:

1.Stability performance: these two kinds of roller have their own advantages and disadvantages. Tapered self-aligning roller provides a more stable transport environment for belt and material, but since the tapered roller with a certain angle, if carries the material for a long time, it will increase the radial offset of roller. While friction self-aligning roller has a stable structure so that it can carry material for a long time and won’t be influenced. but there is a certain angle between belt and roller due to design of friction pulley, the joint degree of friction self-aligning roller is lower than tapered self-aligning roller, which will reduce the stability performance of belt conveyor.
2.Friction coefficient: concerning this aspect, tapered self-aligning roller has advantage over the friction self-aligning roller, tapered self-aligning roller has a special body design of roller, it could extremely increase joint degree of belt and roller to make the belt adapt to tapered roller, it also greatly reduce the force of friction.

3.Sealing Performance: the sealing performance of friction self-aligning roller is better than tapered self-aligning roller, the friction one adopts the design with independent installation of the friction pulley to promise a good sealing performance, however, because tapered self-aligning roller has a different diameter of pipe, it increase the difficulty of seal, meanwhile, performance of seal is also reduced.
4.Production cost: the structure and technology of tapered self-aligning roller are much simpler, so the cost is low, but if in the long run of using, the friction self-aligning roller is more stable and durable.

Introduction of Conveyor Pulley

Conveyor pulley is a mechanical device which stays at two ends of belt machine, guides the belt running, and changes the belt direction and tensions the belt.


Types: driving pulley; bend pulley; coating pulley (includes vulcanized pulleys and cold adhesive pulleys).

Introduction of Ultra High Molecular Polyethylene Roller

Ultra high molecular polyethylene roller is an advanced product which is to substitute stainless roller, which has some disadvantages such as heavy, easy to be eroded, easy to stick with transporting material, high static electricity and others. it includes ultrahigh molecular polyethylene pipe which produced by high technology as its body, bearing seat and seal are fully rubber material made by one-time. How to Maintain Motorized Pulley and Keep it Servicing Longer Time?

Are you in trouble with maintaining and repairing motorized pulley when operate the belt conveyor? Come and check this article ,we are sure you will get a satisfied solution !
1. In order to create a good condition for normal operation, please check the surrounding environment, fastening bolts, oil leakage, the cable before each start-up.
2. Please start a new pulley with inching running, then it will turn into normal gradually, please check the machine vibration, noise, and temperature heating of each operating component after running for 10 minutes.
3. If oil leakage happens to motorized pulley, please pay attention to check two parts: one is oil seal, check it whether has wear and tear or deformation phenomenon, if any, please replace the cage oil seal timely; the other one is that the air outlet can’t be blocked, if there is blockage, the deposition of dust, grease and sundries shall be removed as soon as possible to ensure smooth access.
4. Regularly check the oil level in the drum is an important part of the daily maintenance, besides, regulation of the oil level height is one of the conditions to ensure the normal operation of the pulley. Inspection methods can be referred according to operation manual.

Working Principles
Belt conveyor is composed by two endpoint pulleys and a closed conveyor belt.  The pulley that drives conveyor belt rotating is called drive pulley or transmission drum; the other one–only used to change conveyor belt movement direction–is called bend pulley. Drive pulley is driven by the motor through reducer, and conveyor belt dragging relies on the friction drag between the drive pulley and the conveyor belt. The drive pulleys are generally installed at the discharge end in order to increase traction and be easy to drag. Material is fed on the feed-side and landed on the rotating conveyor belt, then rely on the conveyor belt friction to be delivered to discharge end.

Long distance belt conveyor can transport bulk materials or bagged goods, such as stone, sand, coal, concrete, cement, gravel, fertilizer, mineral ore, limestone, coke, sawdust, wood chip, bulk material, grain, corn flakes, carbon black, component/part, etc.
Components of Belt Conveyor
Main components of a belt conveyor are:
   1.Belt is used for moving and supporting surface on which the conveyed material rides. It is the tractive element. The type of belt used need to depend on the nature of materials to be transported. 
   2.Idlers are the supports for the carrying and return stands of the belt.
   3.Drive that imparts power to one or more pulleys to move the belt and its loads.
   4.Structure is the support and maintains the alignments of the idlers and pulleys. Besides, it also supports the driving machinery. 
Other components included: 
   5.Loading chute or feeder chute that organizes the flow of material and directs it on the belt conveyor.
   6.Take-up device which is used to maintain the proper tension of the belt for effective power transmission.
   7.Belt cleaner that keeps the belt free from materials sticking to the belt.
   Tramp removal device, which is optionally used in case the conveyed material bears the chance of having tramp iron mixed with it and subsequent handling of the material, demands its removal. 
   8.Continuous weighing device for constantly measuring the load being carried by the conveyor belt.
   9.Discharge chutes to guide the discharged projectile to subsequent conveyor or other receiving point.
   10.Surge hopper and feeder, which is essential for supplying material to the conveyor at uniform rate when the supply of material is intermittent.
